When subscribing to handy4u there are no set-up fees and the minimum subscription period is for 3 months.

To keep you in control of your finances, keep such low pricing for such a comprehensive service, and minimise your and our bank and credit card charges, the payment method is by Standing Order from your bank account.

When we receive your completed Standing Order form we will activate your web site and subsequent services. We will also send your completed Standing Order form to your bank or building society so that we can receive payment.

If you pay monthly in advance, you can stop the services at any time after your initial 3 month commitment has been fulfilled by contacting your bank and cancelling the Standing Order. The services will stop when we receive no payment from you on the expected payment date.

If you pay annually in advance then the service runs for a year until the next payment is due. The services will stop if we receive no payment from you on the expected payment date for the following year.

You must always notify us of your cancellation at the same time as you notify your bank.

If you prefer to use the Internet yourself, you can make changes to your site at any time by using our on-line service without paying any additional fees.

If you prefer not to use the Internet and would like us to make your changes for you, then once in any 2 month consecutive period you can simply write out your changes in block capitals on plain paper and send them to us. We will then make the changes for you - all part of the service.

If you need us to make changes for you on a more regular basis, then we are happy to do so for an additional fee. For each additional change you request the fee is £10 per section of information being changed. You will need to include a cheque made payable to handy4u Limited for the correct amount with your request for any such changes.

If you have already purchased a Domain Name such as "www.your-business-name.co.uk" from an Internet Domain Name Registration company then using it for your handy4u website is usually straightforward.

This procedure is often called Domain Name Redirection or Web Forwarding and is usually explained on your registration company's website.

Web Forwarding :

This type of re-direction service simply allows visitors to find your handy4u website using the domain name you have registered with the registration company.

Visitors first arrive at the registration company's version of your homepage and are then automatically, and usually transparently, sent forward to arrive at your handy4u website.

If your Domain Name Registrar provides this type of redirection then all you need to do is created your handy4u website with a free handy4u sub-domain i.e. "yourcompanyname.handy4u.co.uk" and then instructed your Domain Name Registrar to point your Domain Name to your handy4u website address.

A lot of Domain Name Registrars allow you to set-up web forwarding for your domain name by logging into the account you set-up when registering the domain name and amending some settings.

Web forwarding is often provided by your registrar as 'framed web forwarding' or 'non-framed web forwarding'. Whenever possible, you should use 'framed web forwarding' as this will show your registered domain name in the web browsers address bar, 'non-framed web forwarding' will show your handy4u sub-domain website address in the web browsers address bar.

When using 'framed web forwarding' you should also set the page title, description and list of keywords so that the frame contains the correct details about your website for search engines to display.

If you want us to promote your registered Domain Name when submitting your website address to the search engines and directories then you must let us know that you have set-up web forwarding and provide us with your registered domain name, otherwise we promote your handy4u sub-domain website address.

Pointing your Domain Name at our IP Address :

If you find that your registrar does not provide web forwarding facilities then you may need to configure DNS to resolve your domain name to our server IP address.

You should contact handy4u to discuss this type of Domain Name Resolution as we will need to re-configure your website and your registrar will need to point your domain name at our IP address. (Note that some registration organisations may also charge you for their part in this redirection service).

Please be aware that the Internet itself can take 3-5 days to update all of it's worldwide systems to globally recognise the new location that your Domain Name points to.

If you would like to register a domain name such as "www.my-business-name.co.uk" or ".com" to replace the handy4u website address you selected when you created your handy4u website then we can do this for you.

This procedure is known as Domain Name Registration and we charge an annual fee of £12.50 for registering and configuring a ".co.uk" domain such as "www.my-business-name.co.uk" and/or an annual fee of £30.00 for registering a ".com" domain such as "www.my-business-name.com".

Firstly, you will need to build your handy4u website using our standard procedures. Whilst building your website you will still need to provide us with a handy4u website address to use. When we register a domain name for you, your registered domain name will be forwarded to your handy4u website address.

To register a domain name with us you need to have subscribed to use our website service. You can then create an annual standing order to request registration of domain names that will be used with your handy4u website.

A full description of the domain name registration process and details required for domain name registration can be found in the subscriptions section when you login to manage your website.

Please be aware that the domain name you choose needs to be unique on the global Internet and so you will be given the opportunity to see if the required name is still available or if it has already been registered by another company.

When we receive your completed standing order forms we will check that the Domain Name you requested is still available and then register it for you using the details you provide during the subscription process.

Please note that the Internet itself can take 3-5 days to update all of it's worldwide systems to globally recognise the location that your new Domain Name points to.

Some personal firewalls, such as Norton Internet Security and Zone Alarm, have browser privacy settings that can interfere with the correct operation of the handy4u website editor.

If you are having problems using handy4u, try temporarily disabling the browser privacy policy in your personal firewall software.

The handy4u website editor requires access to the Private Header Information normally transmitted within a request for a web page, and it also requires access to Session Cookies.

This information is only used to give you access to your website content. If your Personal Firewall is configured to block this information then you will need to change your privacy settings so that you can use our service.

You should check your firewall's documentation, or the support section of the vendor's web site for information about changing the privacy settings in your personal firewall.
